Shaiqiu, Chinese traditional agrarian culture in Wuyuan

Wuyuan, on the boundary of three provinces in central China's Jiangxi Province, has a magnificent landscape dotted with strange caves and numerous historic sites. It has been described by some overseas photographers as the “most beautiful of Chinese village.”

Local residents sun bake their farm produce, including peppers, chrysanthemum flowers in Huangling village in east China's Jiangxi province. Huangling village is about 300 kilometers away from Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province. In autumn, the villagers in Huangling take out corn, chili peppers and chrysanthemum flowers to dry them in the sun. This tradition is called "shaiqiu" in Chinese.
