Qatar, Morocco vow to boost cooperation amid blockade

RABAT, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Qatar on Sunday vowed to enhance bilateral cooperation, while hailing the "excellent relations" between the two states.

The two sides made the pledge during a meeting between visiting Moroccan King Mohammed VI and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, the Moroccan official MAP news agency reported.

After a broad meeting that included top officials from both countries, the two leaders held a private meeting.

The meetings "touched on the excellent relations between the two brotherly countries and the firm will by the two leaders to further reinforce cooperation in the different areas," the report said.

The two heads of state also discussed regional and international topics of shared interest, it added, without disclosing details.

The Moroccan king arrived in Qatar after paying a five-day visit since Tuesday to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is part of the Saudi Arabia-led coalition that has cut ties with Qatar and imposed a full blockade on Doha.
