Tokyo stocks open higher on Wall Street's overnight gains
TOKYO, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Friday following Wall Street's gains overnight and a comparatively weak yen against the U.S. dollar.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 313.80 points, or 1.41 percent, from Thursday to 22,501.76.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 13.89 points, or 0.81 percent, at 1,723.57.[ Editor: WPY ]
