Flood kills 3 in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province
FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains and flash flood have claimed the lives of three persons and three others went missing in Yamgan district of the northern Badakhshan province, head of Natural Disaster Management Authority of the province, Abdullah Hamayon Dehqan said Friday.
Heavy rain followed by flood hit parts of Yamgan district late Thursday and besides washing away several houses also killed three villagers and three others are still missing, Dehqan confirmed to Xinhua.
The number of casualties could be higher as flood destroyed some houses and farmlands in the neighboring Kasham district, the official said, adding fact rescue teams have been sent to the affected areas to survey the damaged families. Enditem
