He had received care and help from teachers and fellow students in his university and was deeply impressed by them, and he also wanted to be of some help to people in need. Therefore, when he saw the volunteer recruitment, he immediately contacted his supervisor, saying that he wanted to be a volunteer to help medical workers’ children learn English.

After a random allocation, Danquah was assigned to tutor a 9-year-old boy. He helped the boy memorize English words and taught him to read English articles via WeChat.

Danquah enjoyed this volunteer activity, even though it was no paid. It was important for both him and the boy. For the boy, Danquah was a companion to the boy when his parents were away from home to fight COVID-19. For Danquah himself, he could be of some help to those who devoted themselves to fight the virus and help more people.
