Photographer Zhang Yufen recently spent 11 hours capturing splendid moments of kingfishers perching on the lotuses in Jingyuetan National Scenic Area in Changchun, Jilin province.
"I originally planned to shoot the swallows in the park," she said. "To my surprise, I was lucky to capture the kingfishers standing on the lotuses and enjoying their food. They usually prefer to stay in the trees."
Zhang, who has focused on photographing birds for many years, often spends whole days in parks during the summers.
"All the physical exhaustion disappears when I look at the wonderful pictures in my camera," she said.
