The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has more than 100 top-ranked scenic spots, among the most in China.
During the county's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, the region has made efforts to promote the construction of high-quality scenic spots, focusing on large-scale, high-standard tourism.
Through the creation of both brick-and-mortar and software products, Xinjiang is promoting national 5A-level tourist attractions, global tourism demonstration zones, tourist resorts and eco-tourism demonstration zones. Also, existing scenic spots have been continuously upgraded.
Since 2020, the Pamir tourist area has been rated as a national 5A attraction, and 13 scenic spots in the region have been rated 4A. The region expects to have 15 national 5A-level attractions by the end of this year.
