Tokyo stocks open flat following Nikkei's 29-year high
TOKYO, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened almost flat Thursday, struggling for clear direction a day after the benchmark Nikkei index hit a fresh 29-year high.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 13.86 points, or 0.05 percent, from Wednesday to 26,283.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 2.27 points, or 0.13 percent, at 1,765.40.
Air transportation and insurance issues comprised those declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell, while service and marine transportation stocks led gainers.
