Romantic drama "My Love" rakes in over 100 mln yuan on debut
BEIJING, May 1 (Xinhua) -- The romantic drama "My Love" led the Chinese mainland box office on its premiere Friday, with a daily grossing of about 142 million yuan (around 21.9 million U.S. dollars), data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Saturday.
The movie accounts for nearly 70 percent of China's daily box-office sales totaling about 206 million yuan on Friday.
It was followed by "Cliff Walkers," the first foray of renowned Chinese director Zhang Yimou into the spy genre. The film pocketed about 46.5 million yuan on its first day of screening.
Coming in third was the Japanese animation film "Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet," which garnered about 4.3 million yuan on Friday. Enditem
