Children practicing fine arts and traditional Chinese calligraphy are welcome to the third edition of the National Fine Arts and Calligraphy Competition for Children. Those aged between 4 and 13 can submit their works to the organizing committee by Aug 2, the deadline.
The contest offers three themes for participants to choose from: birthday, back to 2021 and an unforgettable poem.
The committee will also offer 10 online courses, developed by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, for children who apply for the competition.
Calligraphy is a new addition to this year's competition, so as to inspire children's interest in the classical Chinese art.
Entrant works will be toured to rural schools so that children in the countryside can also feel the power of art.
Prize-winning works will be on show at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in late August. And all the entrants will be added to the academy's collection.
