"Chinese Doctors" continues to lead Chinese box office chart
BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Domestic anti-epidemic-themed movie "Chinese Doctors" continued to top Chinese box office chart on Sunday, China Movie Data Information Network reported Monday.
The movie pocketed 109.4 million yuan (about 16.9 million U.S. dollars) on the 10th day since its debut, bringing the total box office revenue to 888 million yuan.
Coming in second was China's domestic musical comedy "The Day We Lit Up The Sky," raking in about 31.5 million yuan on its second day of release on Sunday.
The movie depicts how a student on grade retention met his like-minded friends in school and together pursued the victory of a dancing competition despite every adversity.
It was followed by "Master Ji Gong," an animated movie adapted from China's ancient folklore of a legendary Buddhist monk, which raked in about 9.6 million yuan on Sunday. Enditem
