BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The third edition of the Encyclopedia of China, the compilation of which began in 2014, released its first entries on Saturday.
The initial release consists of approximately 210,000 online Chinese entries, 1,000 Chinese-themed English entries and three paper volumes, involving nearly 100 disciplines. The online entries are presented in various forms including texts, pictures and videos.
The third edition is larger in scale, richer in content and more diverse in form compared to the previous edition, so as to better meet the needs of readers in the internet age, according to a symposium on the release of the entries, which was held in Beijing.
An online database of Chinese social science entries was also launched on the same day. Enditem
