Champion Tianjin claims 3rd straight win in Chinese women's volleyball league

JIANGMEN, China, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion Tianjin had a dominant 3-0 (25-16, 25-6, 25-10) victory over Yunnan, while Guangdong rallied past Zhejiang in a five-set thriller in the third round of the 2021-22 Chinese women's volleyball league here on Sunday.

Vargas Melissa got a game-high 19 points and Chinese international Wang Yuanyuan contributed 14 for Tianjin, while Yunnan spiker Hu Yuqin pocketed only seven.

Earlier on Sunday, Guangdong edged out Zhejiang 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 20-25, 16-14. Chen Peiyan provided a game-high 26 points for Guangdong, while Chen Yuexi scored 21 for Zhejiang.

Sunday's games also saw Sichuan smash Hebei 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-20), Shenzhen beat Henan 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-9, 25-14), Jiangsu defeat Fujian 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 26-24) and Shanghai ease past Beijing 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-19). Enditem
