RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Hulk scored twice as Atletico Mineiro moved to within touching distance of their first Brazilian Serie A title in 50 years with a 2-1 home win over Fluminense on Sunday.
Manoel Carvalho opened the scoring for the visitors with a 14th-minute strike before Hulk equalized by converting a penalty just before halftime.
The former Porto and Shanghai SIPG forward put his side ahead on the hour mark with a free-kick that wrong-footed goalkeeper Marcos Felipe after deflecting off the wall.
Atletico now have an 11-point lead over second-placed Flamengo and can secure the title if they beat Bahia away from home on Thursday.
Fluminense are seventh in the 20-team standings and remain strongly placed to secure a place in next year's Copa Libertadores.
In other Brazilian Serie A fixtures on Sunday, Santos drew 1-1 at Internacional and Corinthians won 1-0 at home to Athletico Paranaense. Enditem
