Gong Zheng elected mayor of Shanghai
SHANGHAI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Gong Zheng was elected mayor of Shanghai Municipality by local legislature on Tuesday.
The 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress elected the mayor at its fourth session.
Gong, born in 1960, is a native of Suzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province. He was appointed vice mayor and acting mayor of Shanghai in March.
