NEW DELHI, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- India's retail inflation eased to 4.35 percent in September, data released by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation showed Tuesday.
"The inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September is 4.35 percent," the government data said. "It was 5.30 percent in August."
The food inflation, meanwhile, eased to 0.68 percent in September from 3.11 percent in August.
"The Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) eased to 0.68 percent in the month September. However, the CFPI for August was 3.11," the data showed.
The easing of retail inflation is mainly attributed to the softening of food prices.
