Winter Solstice shines special light at Summer Palace in Beijing

Sunlight shines through the arches under the Seventeen Arch Bridge at the Summer Palace, also known as Yiheyuan, on Dec 22, 2022, this year's Winter Solstice. As the sun shined directly at the Tropic of Capricorn on the first day of Winter Solstice, sunlight was directed through the 17 arches of the bridge, creating a rare natural sight and attracting many tourists and photography enthusiasts.
