Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, located in SW China's Yunnan Province, though beautiful as its mountainous terrain is in the eyes of tourists, has a large number of poverty-stricken population. More than 100,000 villagers moved from their old log cabin in the mountains to a new apartment in the resettlement site. Since then, local authorities has made great efforts in education, healthcare, employment and other fields to help local residents who resettled in urban area shake off poverty and adapt to the new environment.
