China removes all its 832 impoverished counties from the poverty list
On Nov. 23, 2020, the provincial government of southwest China's Guizhou Province announced that the last nine impoverished counties had eliminated absolute poverty. This means that China has achieved the feat of removing all its 832 impoverished counties on the poverty list released in 2014.
With nearly 100 million poor people in rural areas lifted out of poverty, China has made significant contributions to the global poverty reduction cause.
The country will continue to consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, make notable progress in prosperity for all, and continuously improve the well-being of people's livelihood.
