Sugar coated haws sweeten winter days in SE China's Zhejiang
Photo taken on Jan. 12, 2021 shows kids making sugar coated haws in Changxing County of Huzhou City, SE China's Zhejiang Province. Sugar coated haws consist of fresh fruits covered in a hardened sugar syrup. The crispy texture of the coating and the sour taste of the fillings make the snack popular across China for a long time. In celebration of the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival, kids learned to make Chinese traditional snack such as dumplings, spring rolls and candied haws with the help of their parents.
