Santos name Argentina's Holan as head coach
RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Argentinian manager Ariel Holan has secured a deal to take charge of Santos for the next three years, the Brazilian club said on Monday.
Holan will replace Alexi Stival, better known as Cuca, who stepped down after a 1-1 home draw with Fluminense in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
"I am very happy to manage Santos, a club that had so many stars, such as Pele and Neymar," Holan said in statement. "It will be a challenge to participate in one of the most even leagues in the world, but I am fully confident that we will deliver positive results."
The 60-year-old will be tied to the eight-time Brazilian Serie A champions until December 2023. He became available after parting ways with Chile's Universidad Catolica, whom he led to a third successive league title last year.
Holan's managerial career has also included spells in charge of Argentina's Defensa y Justicia and Independiente. Enditem
