International Family Day celebrated in Beijing Olympic Forest Park

In every beautiful season of May, when the grass grows, birds fly and everywhere is full of vitality, the Beijing Women's Federation invites families from domestic and abroad to celebrate the International Day of Families, an annual carnival for families in Beijing.

In order to raise all countries’ awareness on family issues and promote family harmony, happiness and progress, the United Nations has set May 15th every year as International Day of Families. Over the past 11 years, the Beijing Women's Federation has connected the friendship of families from different countries in Beijing through a variety of family-themed activities, attracting nearly 10,000 people from more than 60 countries to participate, consolidating the consensus of different cultures on family, and closing the bond between the people of all countries.

The theme of International Day of Families this year was Spring Family Carnival: Our Global Village. People were invited to participate in ice and snow sports, brisk walking and other activities to support the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, to appreciate the Olympic spirit of fair competition, mutual understanding, friendship and unity through family sports, and to further understand the relationship between human beings and the environment through biodiversity games.
