Ecological tea orchard helps increase farmers' income in SE China's Fujian Province
Photo taken on May 27, 2021 shows the Yanzike Ecological Tea Orchard at Mount Wuyi (Wuyishan) in southeast China's Fujian Province. The place owns a pilot and model agricultural development project. Under the guidance of Professor Hong Liao (Agricultural Scientist and Professor of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University), the quality of tea here has improved significantly through more scientific fertilizing methods and ecological prevention and treatment. These methods helped increase the total annual output of tea and reduced carbon emissions. Now, income from tea production makes up approximately 1/4 of the total income for farmers in the region.
