The U.S. president Joe Biden put forward the “Build Back Better World Initiative”, attempting to “align allies” together to take on China’s Belt and Road Initiative which “expands across the globe”, according to an article published by Newsweek.
The article says that Biden’s endeavor has already been encountered “a degree of skepticism and wariness from both experts and officials.” A research fellow named David Sacks at the Council on Foreign Relations expressed his view that the Build Back Better World Initiative is a “really good first step”, but “there are a lot of questions about our ability to implement it.”
