The emblem of the Communist Party of China is the symbol of the Party. It changed from “sickle and axe” to “sickle and hammer”, having undergone a series of evolutions. In 1996, the Central Committee officially laid out the standard design for the Party emblem: “A design of sickle and hammer”. The CPC Constitution adopted in 2002 included the chapter of “Party Emblem and Flag”. In 2021, the Central Committee further regulated the design, use and management of the Party emblem and flag.

Circumstances the Party emblem or its pattern should be used:

- First, at the CPC National Congress, delegates meetings and local congresses at all levels.

- Second, at the plenary sessions of the CPC central and local committees.

- Third, on the seals of the CPC central and local committees, representative organs and working departments dispatched to specific regions and the CPC’s disciplinary organs, etc.

In addition, the Party emblem can also be used on certain specific occasions.
