Chinese Taipei defeats Iran in AFC Women's Asian Cup

NEW DELHI, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei on Wednesday defeated Iran 5-0 in the ongoing AFC Women's Asian Cup soccer tournament in India's south-western state of Maharashtra.

Chinese Taipei's Lai Li-chin had a hat-trick while Chen Yen-ping and Wang Hsiang-huei scored one goal each for their team.

Chinese Taipei secured second place in Group A and advanced to the knockout stage behind group leaders China.
