Makai Restaurant: Pearl of Food Culture on the Central Axis

One cannot visit the Central Axis in Beijing without food, and one of the most famous restaurants located near the Bell and Drum Towers on the central axis is Makai Restaurant, founded in 1953. The 2022 Beijing Media Center press trip brought us to the restaurant on Feb. 1, which is the first day of the Chinese New Year. On this day, it is a tradition for Chinese families to make and eat dumplings, and that is what we did at the restaurant. We tasted dumplings of different flavors, with eggs, shrimps, chives, chicken, and so forth. What a yummy day!
