Smart and digital technologies on display at JD Group

On Feb. 18, 2022, 62 Chinese and foreign journalists came to the JD Group office in Yizhuang District of Beijing. After visiting the self-service area, unmanned supermarket, logistics booth, sandbox, JD Vision Exhibition Hall (digital screens showcasing statistical numbers of sales, trending products, and other digital figures at JD) and JD House (store selling digital and other products), journalists were impressed by the various "black technology" applications in the building.

JD Group is a supply chain-based technology and service company, with businesses in retail, technology, logistics, health, insurance, production and development, and overseas. Over the past 18 years, JD Retail has covered computer and digital products, cell phones, home appliances, consumer goods, fashion, household applicants, fresh food, lifestyle services and industrial products. At present, JD Retail has nearly 10 million SKUs of self-operated products, and has laid out tens of thousands of offline stores such as JD Home Appliance Store, JD Computer Digital Store, 7Fresh Supermarket, JD Auto Club, and so forth. JD's supply chain also connects millions of community supermarkets, vegetable stores, pharmacies, auto repair stores, flower stores, and so on.

Currently, JD has built an "ABCDE" technology strategy based on AI, BigData, Cloud, Internet of Things Devices and Exploration to create an efficient "new Infrastructure", promote its own smart supply chain and smart logistics into the overall deployment of the national new infrastructure, and let more industries and consumers share the digital dividends of the new infrastructure.
