Chinese livestreaming court trials have registered 45.6 billion views in 2021, according to the Supreme People's Court (SPC) report submitted to the ongoing session of the national legislature for review.According to the report, a total of 130 million written judgments were made available to the public online in 2021.

China ups fight against financial crimes

China handled some 13,000 cases involving market manipulation, insider trading, illegal fund-raising and money laundering in 2021, said the report, which was submitted to the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress for review. Courts nationwide concluded about 1.55 million financial disputes last year, according to the report.

China imposes strict punishment on corruption-related crimes

Chinese courts concluded 23,000 cases related to corruption, bribery and dereliction of duty in 2021, involving 27,000 people, according to the report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) submitted to the ongoing session of the national legislature for deliberation.

Efforts were made to bring back illicit money and goods related to duty crimes and over 59 billion yuan (about 9.3 billion U.S. dollars) were recovered, read the SPC report.

739 Chinese courts provide 24-hour litigation services

A total of 739 courts in China provide 24-hour litigation services, according to a work report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) made public on Tuesday.

"Night-time courts" in cities like Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai have helped solve problems of office workers who can not find time to go to the court during the daytime, read the report submitted to the ongoing session of the national legislature for deliberation.

China is one of world's safest countries: SPC report

China is one of the safest countries in the world, according to a work report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) made public on Tuesday. The number of eight types of major criminal cases, such as homicide, rape and kidnap, has stayed at a low level, and the proportion of such cases in all criminal cases has steadily decreased, read the report submitted to the ongoing session of the national legislature for deliberation.

In 2021, people's courts at various levels concluded over 1.25 million criminal cases of first instance and convicted about 1.72 million criminals, according to the report.
