H.E. Mr. Teshome Toga Chanaka, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to China, H.E. Mr. Alain Wong Yen Cheong, the Ambassador of Mauritius to China, and H.E. Dr. Winfred Nii Okai Hammond, the Ambassador of Ghana to China, joined the discussion with Ms. Sun Chao, the head of the Belt and Road Ambassador Interview Program, sharing their views on why China and Africa have shared such a close relationship and so deep a bond of friendship.
Recognizing China-Africa relations have developed new norms of international relations featuring mutual respect and equal treatment and a new model of South-South cooperation that is highly effective in the process of continuous adjustment and reform, the panel discussed about how to deepen China-Africa cooperation, promote sustainable development, and build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
China Conference is a student-run conference that utilizes the leverage and advantage of the Harvard Kennedy School, inviting opinion leaders in realms of academia, politics, business and social enterprise. It aims to create a public space for cross-sector dialogue, discussion, debate, collaboration and promotion. Under the new normal featured with uncertainty, the forum provides a thought engine for innovative solutions to challenges both at present and in the future.
