RCEP as a step forward in revitalization of multilateralism: HK business leader

"From a macro-economic aspect, I think RCEP really represents a step forward in the revitalization of multilateralism, which is so important for the world's future," said Victor Fung, member of BFA Council of Advisors and group chairman of the Fung Group, at this year's Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in south China's Hainan Province.

Victor Fung shared his view on the significance of joinging RCEP from both a macro-economic aspect and the business standpoint at a session titled "A New Stage of Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation".

Fung said that the trading system is really in need of some revitalization, and the momentum created in Asia through RCEP would give such a force.

"As the world is recovering from the COVID-19 situation, it's time to think about the future", he said.
