FIFA World Cup Trophy arrives in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The FIFA World Cup trophy landed in Kuwait on Monday in the third stop of its tour, before the start of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.

Accompanied by the former Brazilian national team star Gilberto Silva, the World Cup trophy was received by the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah and general secretary Salah Al-Qenaei and other officials.

Kuwait's crown prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with the FIFA delegation on Monday.

During the meeting, the crown prince praised the tireless efforts made by Qatar to organize this world championship, expressing his pride in the unprecedented capabilities offered by Qatar, and wishing success in organizing the global tournament. ■
