Roundup: Space tech expo in Southern California showcasing latest in space industry

LOS ANGELES, May 25 (Xinhua) -- A space tech expo was held in Long Beach in Southern California on Tuesday and Wednesday, showcasing the latest development in space-related technologies, solutions and innovation in the space industry.

The expo attracted over 220 exhibitors and more than 3,000 attendees worldwide. It is America's leading showcase of space technology and services for spacecraft, satellite and launcher systems, components and materials for civil, military and commercial space, according to the organizer.

Some new materials, tools and technologies were on show at the expo, including thermal management, high-resolution 3D surface analysis and advanced injection molding technology.

The expo also featured talks and seminars on a variety of topics including technologies, markets and space system development. Participants could learn the latest in market opportunities and key technology developments from the industry's leading experts.

Fabio Boccola, CEO of German company Hauschild Engineering, traveled from Dusseldorf, Germany to attend the expo. The company presented its smart bladeless centrifuge mixer at the expo, which combines intelligence and power blend together.

Boccola told Xinhua the company hopes to reach out to more customers and distributors in aerospace and manufacturing industries.

Calling China a good market, Boccola said the company has distributors in China and hopes to apply its mixers to more Chinese partners in such industries as chemicals, paintings and glues.

A space art show was also held at the expo, showcasing paintings, drawings and digital works on astronauts and space exploration.

Simon Kregar, director of exhibitions at the International Association of Astronomical Artists, told Xinhua it is the seventh time he participated in the annual expo. Kregar said he loves to share his space art projects to more audiences, and expects to see more international cooperation in artistic work inspired by the exploration of the universe.
