Myanmar is China’s neighbor country, bordered by south China’s Yunnan Province, and it is also one of the least developed countries in the world.

Lin Yuan, a 32-year-old Chinese girl, has spent years with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation Myanmar office, witnessing the team develop from the registration period when the office only had two members, to the biggest and most experienced oversea office of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.

By the end of 2021, the CFPA Myanmar office has benefited 455,171 person-times, whose project covers the three SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), which are zero hunger, quality education, and clean water and sanitation. There are eight programs in Myanmar that CFPA has been working on closely with the local government and Myanmar people, including Panda Pack, Smiling Children Program, Paukphaw Scholarship Project, China-Myanmar Friendship Scholarship Project, Computer Classroom Project, WASH Project, Bicycle Donation, and Solar Lantern Project.

Now as the office director, Lin Yuan told us she would never see this day coming when she joined CFPA as a volunteer ten years ago. Check the video for the story of Lin Yuan, a Chinese youth who carries the responsibility of international poverty alleviation.
