On Dec. 30, five participants from the Junior Culture Ambassadors program, together with representatives of young volunteers, were invited to visit the United Nations (UN) Office in Liangmaqiao, Beijing, China. The event was co-sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Volunteers Programme and the China Center for International Science and Technology Exchange. It aims to broaden the younger generation's global vision, encourage them to participate in social and public affairs, gain a better understanding of how the UN operates and promote sustainable development and the spirit of volunteerism.

Guided by staff, the students visited the offices of various UN agencies in Beijing. Through detailed explanations, they gleaned a comprehensive understanding of the purpose, principles and history of the UN, as well as the historical changes and division of duties across the offices of UN agencies in China.
During the event, the students participated in various activities such as sharing their experiences with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiative, a Q&A session, talent show and SDGs workshop. The students were articulate and demonstrated an impressive knowledge base. They were roundly praised for their enthusiasm for promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture and participating in international cultural exchanges.
On behalf of the participants of the Junior Culture Ambassadors program, Ding Jiayi gave voice to the Chinese youth's blessings for the Beijing Winter Olympics and their understanding of the Olympic spirit. She hoped to share with friends around the world about the wonderful Winter Olympic and Chinese stories, as well as their participation in realizing SDGs in the future. By doing so, she hoped to become a real junior ambassador for spreading Chinese culture and contributing to sustainable development.

Chinese and foreign participants of the Junior Culture Ambassadors program, together with the Soong Ching Ling Angel of Peace Art Troupe, performed a dance to promote the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games' motto song, "Together for a Shared Future." A video of the performance will be released soon.
