Typical for a nectar feeder, the Mrs. Gould's sunbird has a down-curved and pointed beak. The male is bright and colorful and can grow to be 13 to 16 centimeters long. The female is covered by deep olive green on the topside and grayish-yellow on the belly, and usually measures from 9 to 11 centimeters.
