Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD), a leading research institute in China, launched a Global Development Report on June 20, 2022 that aims to build a global community of development.
The Report reviews the progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and existing challenges. It underscores that in the face of the major changes and the pandemic both unseen in a century, the international community should be more focused on development cooperation and on building global partnerships, embrace the digital and green transformation, and strive for common, sustainable development for humanity.
It is the first comprehensive research report since Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced the Global Development Initiative (GDI) at the United Nations (UN). The Report reflects China’s great emphasis on the exchange and sharing of development theories and practices among various countries, promotion of mutual learning, and helping the world achieve common and sustainable development.
The Report consists of four chapters including "The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Progress and Challenges", "The Current Macro Settings of Global Development", "The Global Development Initiative: Philosophy, Principles, Pathways and Progress" and "Join Hands to Build a Global Community of Development". The following summarizes the general idea of Chapter Four.
