Brazil's vehicle output climbs 19.3 pct in September

SAO PAULO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's vehicle production rose 19.3 percent in September compared to the same month last year, the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) said Friday.

Car, truck and bus makers produced 207,762 units in the Latin America's leading economy and consumer market during the month compared to 174,087 units in September 2021, according to the report.

From January through September of this year, the South American country manufactured 1.75 million units, 6.3 percent more than that in the first nine months of 2021, though production in September was down 12.7 percent compared to August.

In September, vehicle exports rose 20.7 percent year on year, with 28,544 units sold abroad compared to 23,639 units in the same month last year.

Foreign sales through September saw a 31.2 percent rise compared to the same period in 2021.
