MOSCOW, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- China has been working in various fields to contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind, which demonstrates its commitment to the role of a responsible major country, Dmitry Novikov, deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia, has said.
"The essence of building a community with a shared future for mankind is that humanity is called upon to solve problems through dialogue, search for common goals and join forces in achieving them," Novikov told Xinhua in a recent interview.
In his view, the concept includes rich content ranging from politics, security and economy to culture and ecology, and "these ideas are able to unite people all over the world."
Novikov believes that the strength of building a community with a shared future for mankind is that the concept is inextricably linked to implementation, as shown by cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
This unprecedented initiative has ramifications for dozens of countries and billions of people, he said. "We see equal and mutually beneficial cooperation in this initiative. Its implementation promotes industrial development, increases personnel training, creates jobs, and raises living standards."
Both China's development and the implementation of the BRI are beneficial to regional and global growth, he added.
Novikov considers the China-proposed Global Development Initiative (GDI) equally important.
"Just as President Xi Jinping underscored at the High-level Dialogue on Global Development in June, developed countries need to fulfill obligations, and developing countries need to deepen cooperation. The North and the South need to work in the same direction to forge a united, equal, balanced and inclusive global development partnership, so that no country and nobody is left behind," he said.
"From such Chinese solutions as building a community with a shared future for mankind, the BRI, and the GDI, we can see the basis for establishing a more just and equal world order," he said.
Novikov has been to China several times and has witnessed its rapid development.
"Where a poor village was seen not long time ago, skyscrapers rose on my next visit. Where an old dirt road once ran, a high-speed rail line was built. Such transformations are common in China," he said.
Novikov was also impressed by China's advances in electronics, machine manufacturing, automotive and space sectors.
"It is extremely important for me that all these successes are achieved along with an increase in people's living standard ... The newest and most convenient enterprises, ultra-modern cities, excellent expressways, high-speed rail lines -- they all serve people," Novikov said. ■
