On March 14, at the joint invitation of Beijing Diplomatic Service, the Information Office and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and the People’s Government of Pinggu District, a group of foreign diplomats and their family members embarked on a journey to explore the breath-taking natural scenery, traditional culture and achievements of high-quality development in Beijing’s Pinggu district.
The diplomats, who came from Thailand, Bahamas, Argentina and a dozen other countries, enjoyed Pinggu’s vast peach blossoms, took a boat tour on Jinhaihu Lake, learned about the latest agricultural innovation in Pinggu and the founding story of a violin factory.
Beijing’s Pinggu district boasts vast peach orchards, which offer mesmerizing scenery of peach blossoms every year that attract large numbers of visitors.
Paulette Bethel, Bahamian Ambassador to China, marveled at the beauty and vitality of Pinggu, saying that this trip visualized for her China’s economic vitality and the country’s determination to promote economic rejuvenation.
Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador from Thailand, said during the welcome banquet that he was impressed by the efforts that Pinggu put in in developing modern, smart agriculture.
