On April 12, a ceremony marking connection of the China-aided Kunlong Bridge in Myanmar was held in Kunlong, Shan State, Myanmar. The bridge, which started construction on December 10, 2020, is 286 meters long and spans the Salween River. After the successful connection of the bridge, the construction of road paving, traffic safety facilities installation and greening works will be carried out, and the bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in June this year. Upon completion, the bridge can carry trucks of about 70 tons, which will facilitate the movement of people and transportation logistics between China and Myanmar, and better promote the economic and trade development of the two countries.
