At least 4.5 million died of post-9/11 warfare

Cultural anthropologis Stephanie Savell’s report revealed a total number of at least 4.5 million deaths occurred as a result of post-9/11 warfare in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya and Somalia, of which up to 3.6 million were "indirect deaths". Women and children are disproportionately affected indirectly, and the mental health effects of war reverberate through generations. The US, which launched the “global war on terror” in 2001, bears heavy responsibility, according to theGuardian report.
