Gubei Water Town at the foot of the Great Wall

Near Simatai Great Wall in Beijing’s Miyun District, there is a resort area built in the style of a Jiangnan water town, called Gubei Water Town.

The town, built in 2010, has a total area of 9 square kilometers and is divided into the old camp area, the Republic of China neighborhood, the water street style area, the Wuolong Fort folklore area, the Tang River ancient village area, the homestay and drinks area, the Houchuan Zen Valley, and so forth. The town has different ancient architectural styles, stone bridges, green tiles and white walls, colorful homestays, making people dazzled. As clear river flows along the ancient town blocks and buildings, and when the fishermens' boats pass in front of you, a unique water township style appears into the eyes. People would stop here and call it the northern Jiangnan under the blue sky and white clouds!
