BUENOS AIRES, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Luis Vazquez scored twice as six-time champions Boca Juniors secured top spot in their Copa Libertadores group with a 4-0 home win over Monagas on Thursday.
Marcelo Weigandt scored in the first half before Valentin Barco and Vazquez added second-half goals for the Argentine side.
Boca Juniors were forced to play most of the match with only 10 men after Bruno Valdez was shown a second yellow card for a bad tackle in the 36th minute.
The Venezuelan outfit were also reduced to 10 men when Abdiel Arroyo was booked for a second time just after halftime.
The result at La Bombonera left Boca with 13 points from their six group games, five points clear of second-placed Deportivo Pereira.
Monagas finished last in the group with five points while Chile's Colo-Colo also missed a berth in the competition's last 16.
In other Copa Libertadores results on Thursday, Deportivo Pereira drew 0-0 at Colo-Colo, Barcelona SC were held to a 2-2 home draw by Cerro Porteno and Palmeiras romped to a 4-0 home win over Bolivar.
