“Three thousand visitors come and go, but the forty thousand silver forgers stay”. The She people have always revered silver jewelry and silverware, which are seen in their births, weddings and marriages, and major festivals and events, or in their day-to-day life. Carrying the blessings of good luck and peace, silverwares and jewelry are inseparable from the life of the She people,

The She silverware craft has developed over a long period of time, gradually forming the five major crafts of “silver cutting, chiseling, polishing, shaping and finishing”, but a total of more than 30 processes are required. In 2011, the She silverware making technique was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.

“A tiny hammer speaks the silver art without words for a thousand years”. As part of the She culture, the She silverware making technique is not only an ancient craft, but also an important embodiment of the She cultural heritage.
