Feel the TCM Culture in a Time-honored Chinese Drugstore

Taigu, a historical city in Shanxi founded in the Western Han Dynasty, is a reputed hometown for Shanxi merchants. The famous TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) enterprise GuangYuYuan was also born here. Two of its representative drugs, Gui Ling Ji and Ding Kun Dan, are known across the world for their herbal prescriptions and preparation techniques.

The prescription of Gui Ling Ji is a rigorous one with rare ingredients, as well as a sophisticated and unique making process that includes boiling, steaming, mixing, frying, fermenting, and drying at night, the entire process contains 81 procedures, making the drug a unique and masterpiece of TCM prescription.

Ding Kun Dan features a total of 29 ingredients in its composition, it’s another masterpiece of TCM, whose producing technique is nowhere to be found in either ancient or present prescriptions because it’s kept as a state-level secret.

The pharmaceutical procedures of each pill epitomize thousands of years of Chinese philosophy in health and wellness and its practical experience, they reflect the wisdom of the Chinese people and are the treasure of Chinese civilization.
