Bounluane Xomsihapanya, a member of the National Assembly of Lao PDR, praised China's effective rural development strategies, particularly in poverty reduction, in his exclusive interview with Guangming Online.
During his seventh visit to Kunming, Xomsihapanya marveled at the drastic improvements of infrastructure in villages. He highlighted the substantial progress in mountainous regions, where residents have seen significant income raise in the past ten years.
Xomsihapanya acknowledged China's global role in uniting developing countries through infrastructure projects and initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). He emphasized the significance of the Laos-China Railway, which has transformed Laos from a landlocked to a land-linked nation, significantly boosting trade volume and passenger movement. "They try to make the world closer together, and of course, to make people’s lives better," he commented.
