Belt and Road Conversations: Serbia Scholar Highlights Fruitful University Alliance under BRI Framework

BEIJING - During the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on October 18, 2023, Dejan Madić, the Rector of the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, engaged in a conversation with Guangming Online. He underlined the robust relationship between Serbia and China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The University of Novi Sad, Serbia, plays a pivotal role as a leading contributor to the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium, a collaborative endeavor involving Beijing University for Civil Engineering and Architecture. Madić stressed the importance of disseminating the consortium's achievements among the Serbian populace, and he proudly highlighted the existence of more than 20 agreements with various Chinese universities.

Moreover, within the context of the thematic forum on sub-national cooperation, Madić, along with 14 other counterparts, signed the Letter of Intent on the Beijing International Innovation Center for Architectural Heritage Protection and Development in the Belt and Road Region. This agreement underscores their collective commitment to the preservation and advancement of ancient architecture, symbolizing a shared initiative in this field.
