MADRID, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid's 2-1 win against FC Barcelona has come at a price, after the club reported on Sunday that France international midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni suffered a stress fracture in his left foot.
The injury means the midfielder is likely to be out of action until the end of the year and joins Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois on Madrid's long-term injury list.
The Frenchman has at times struggled to find his place in the Real Madrid side, while performing well on Saturday in the holding midfield role and coming close to scoring with a powerful shot that Barca keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen palmed wide.
Madrid won the game with Jude Bellingham's brace to go back to the top of La Liga, four points ahead of third-placed Barcelona.
Barcelona had taken the lead through Ilkay Gundogan, who showed his frustration at the defeat after the match.
"Obviously the players were disappointed in the dressing room, but after losing such an important game, I would like to have seen more anger and disappointment," commented the German international.
"There has to be more emotion when you lose and when you know you could have played better. We have to make a big improvement otherwise Real Madrid will pull away from us," he added. ■
