BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- The second international seminar on interfaith exchanges and shared future for humanity was held Thursday in Beijing.

Held by the China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP), the seminar gathered representatives of organizations on religion and peace, religious leaders and experts from around the world.

Centering on the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, the attendees shared principles and practices of different countries and regions, as well as different religions, in meeting global challenges.

They agreed that religious leaders have a responsibility to play an active role in promoting understanding, resolving conflicts and advancing social stability and harmony, so as to promote global peace and development.

"The initiative of a community with a shared future for humanity is consistent with fine traditional Chinese culture in many ways," said Xu Yihua, a member of the CCRP and a professor at Fudan University.

He called on China's religious groups to promote the traditional Chinese wisdom of modesty, tolerance, integration and co-existence on the international stage, and make their own contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

The first seminar of this kind was held in December 2019.
